INTRODUCTION

Well, it’s really too bad if you missed this lecture. It was first delivered at the American Glass Guild conference in Buffalo and reprised at the Glencairn Museum. Dressed as the artist Lawrence Saint (1885-1961) I presented an animated (nay: whirlwind!) story of passion, lost formulas and treasure hunting in some of the most revered collections in the glass world.

I am posting my talk along with the images in serialized form. The page numbers are listed in the Blog Archive (below) so you can follow the story from the beginning. The first entry begins in November 2010.

I will be interspersing the postings with other research of interest to glass scholars but I will keep to the page # system for the original lecture. The text will be available in printed form from the American Glass Guild as a post-print of their 2009 conference.

I will be presenting new information at the Corpus Vitrearum Forum in Lisbon, Portugal in September 2011. The serialized entries are scheduled to conclude then.
